"How To Invent Everything" by Ryan North
This is a brief overview of the complete scope of human knowledge in the guise of a self-help book for a person stuck in the far past as the result of a broken time machine.
It's hilarious. Ryan North is the guy who writes Dinosaur Comics (https://www.qwantz.com/) and has a master's degree in computational linguistics, and, well, it shows.
It's very engaging, very well-researched, discussing everything from how to domesticate animals to synthesizing basic chemicals from natural sources.
I'm not clear on the target audience. Much of the humor isn't going to work for kids, and for adults, a lot of it is pretty basic. But it's a lot of fun to just poke through and enjoy his writing style.
