Villains Are Destined to Die, Vol. 7

Villains Are Destined to Die, Vol. 7 by SUOL

The story continues. Spoilers ahead for the earlier volumes.

As in, it opens in the middle of last book's cliff-hanger. The prince and Penelope are trying to escape when a wave catches them, and they nearly drown.

Penelope recovers consciousness on shore, with the prince, and a still unconscious boy wizard. He flirts with his usual edge but has to leave. Then she has some interactions with the marquis, ending up back home very late, into trouble.

It involves her using magic against memory and finding it foolish, gifts from the prince, many offers to dance, Eckles being late for reasons, herbs, and more.

I do not find Eckles entirely satisfactory here. I find the revelations --not entirely aesthetically consistent.
