Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Vol. 1
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Vol. 1 by Kanehito Yamada
Prologue: the hero and his companions -- one the elf Frieren -- are honored for the defeat and death of the Demon King. They watch a meteor shower and Frieren speaks of seeing it in a better place to view, in 50 years.
Fifty years later, she returns to find the hero old. They do all gather to go, and it's a wonderful view, and shortly thereafter, the hero dies. Their other human companion tells her that he will never see her again.
Twenty years later, she finds him, not his grave, and the orphan he has taken in and wants her to take on as an apprentice. She refuses.
The tale winds on. It involves translating an old book, finding a flower, cleaning up a shore, birthday presents, the dwarf of the original party being too old to do things, oversleeping, cleaning up something from their last journey and why it can be done now, and more.
