It opens still in the middle of the valance leech rampage.
I think the opening chapter may be filler, because it hits on the backstory of a Knight Moralis, between the details of his fight.
But then we are back in the thick of the struggles and the attempts -- Custas and Dagda reach safety, where Dagda might be treated, and Custas collapses -- and Coco has a brilliant idea to solve things.
The tale goes in with warming stones, judicious blackmail of someone who just helped, the Knight Moralis who sees how finely they are arguing, Agott's studiousness proving crucial, dealing with floating things, and more.
