Also I have started revising my Y13 chemistry and physics in anticipation of med school next year.

So only two new books:
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
this was seriously cute and funny. I've read a fair number of classics, but this is the first time I have read Holmes. It was quite different from what I expected, but enjoyable nonetheless. It is more like a series of short stories than a novel, which was good as the tiredness factor meant that I could read a story a night.
Letters from the Coffin Trenches: Ken Catran
This was a sweet, well written wee book set up as a set of letters between an ANZAC soldier and his girl during Gallipoli. It seemed pretty true to the style and content that would have been permitted by the war censors, but this meant that there was a lot unsaid or implied which primary school children would not understand. There are some understated, but graphic descriptions of soldier injuries and experiences in the diary entries that are interspersed with the letters. I found the change in the characters believable and would definitely recommend for school libraries.
