Georgina

In the early 19-century, a young woman, Georgina, returns from Africa, where her father had died as a missionary, her mother having died on the return journey.
Meanwhile, a young gentleman invalided out of the army is going fishing early in the morning when he sees a fire at the house of a neighbor -- who is the young woman's grandfather, and injured.
Contretemps ensue, including Georgina's aunt whose opinion of her depends solely on the use she can get out of her, fishing in the early morning, a Chinese bowl, discussions of family history and whom the grandfather wanted her mother to marry, hiring a maid and other servants, and much more.
