The third edition, which I read lo those many years ago, and re-read now. Still covers basic issues, in both grammar and style, and some development on the later by White

I bought that book the first year of college, and I have never made it all the way through. We never had lessons out of it or assignments to read it; I guess we were supposed to figure out we were supposed to read it. I tried but it was too boring for my juvenile mind. I still have it somewhere around here.

The basic grammar stuff can be like that. Perhaps the actual style stuff might be more interesting.
