She reads the copyright notice and thinks that because reproduction is prohibited, it must be a forbidden book. But when she reads about her mother's shop, and it doesn't mention her brother -- and then she reads about a sidequest to kill the monster that killed her brother --
She is nervous that the book proves accurate in that, steels herself to destroy, can't, hides it and breaks down to check one more thing. Which sets her off on another story.
It involves a lucky vulnerability, a dancer, exploiting knowledge of a haunted house, getting on the bad side of a prince, and more. Including ending on a cliff-hanger that spins the story off in a new direction.
