Taste of Home Grand Prize Winners

Today we finished our tenth cookbook of the year. The front matter includes a table of contents and information about contests. The recipe chapters are Appetizers; Salads, Sides & Such; Soups & Stews; Main Dishes (Beef, Poultry, Pork, Seafood & Meatless); Casseroles; Breads & Rolls; Breakfast & Brunch; Cookies, Bars & Candies; Cakes & Pies; and Just Desserts. There is also an index, divided into an ingredient section and an alphabetical list of titles.
The selection offers a wide variety of dishes. Some are simple, others more complicated. Some are entirely from scratch, others use mostly storebought jars or mixes. Among the recipes we marked were Creamy Chive Mashed Potatoes, Hearty Beef Barley Soup, Chicken and Dumpling Casserole, Apple Ladder Loaf, Parmesan Herb Loaf, Pear Custard Bars, and Golden Lemon Glazed Cheesecake.
This makes a good intermediate cookbook if you want a diverse range of recipes. Regardless of your level, there should be some to suit. They have the advantage of being contest winners. Recommended.
